Should I add shipping rates to my store?

Shipping rates are what you charge your customer in addition to the cost of the products that they order. The cost of shipping is added to a customer's order at checkout. Once you install Checkout X, the app will automatically import all of your shipping rates from the ecommerce platform to Checkout X. You could always edit them from the application by following the instructions below.

Confirm shipping rates

  1. Go to Checkout X > Dashboard

Understanding how Checkout X shipping rates work

You could add as many shipping rates as you want in the Checkout X application. However, you will need to add them manually and only in the Checkout X platform.

⚠️ If you have only one shipping rate in Checkout X, it will be working as a default one. Also, it is not possible to have 0 shipping rates on the checkout because the customers won’t be able to pay.

Checkout X and ecommerce platforms

Your shipping rates are imported from your ecommerce platform when you connect Checkout X to it for the first time. Once the app is installed on your store, you will always need to change the shipping rates only from it. Checkout X will not sync up the changed or newly created shipping rates from your ecommerce platform. If you’ve added or edited a shipping rate in your ecommerce platform, make sure that you manually add the changes in Checkout X.

Checkout X and other Shipping apps

Checkout X doesn’t support and won’t import information from dynamic shipping applications. You need to make sure that all of your shipping rates are added to the Checkout X app and updated at this moment needs to happen manually.

How min/max cart subtotal works

You can add a minimum or maximum cart subtotal amount to the shipping rate settings. This way, the shipping rate will be available only for purchases between a specific amount.

⚠️ Discount codes are taken into account when displaying the available shipping rates. So, when a buyer applies a discount code on their cart, Checkout X takes into account the discounted amount (i.e. subtotal amount - discount amount) and displays the applicable shipping rates for this amount.

⚠️ If tax is applicable to your products but it is not included in the price, then the shipping rates are displayed based on the subtotal value (i.e. without including the tax)

⚠️ Similarly, if tax is applicable to your products and it is already included in the price, then the shipping rates are again displayed based on the subtotal value but this time the subtotal amount includes the tax.

Removing Shipping Rates

You can delete a shipping rate following these steps:

  1. Go to Checkout X > Configuration > Shipping Rates
  2. Choose the shipping rate that you want to remove.
  3. Click on Delete Shipping Rate.
  4. Confirm by clicking OK.
  5. Done!
